The Downtown Uptown Master Plan is the result of a year-long collaborative process that engaged more than 5,000 entrepreneurs, students, neighborhood leaders, and dreamers in answering the question: "What kind of place do you want Downtown to be?" "The Stitch" proposes to add millions of square feet of new real estate inventory by creating approximately 14 acres of new urban greenspace atop a new platform structure spanning a portion of the Downtown Connector. It is estimated that The Stitch could result in $1.1 to $3.1 billion in value creation, generate $21 to $58 million in new revenue, and increase the city's bonding capacity by $508 billion. Managed by ADID, the Uptown Arts & Entertainment District (AAED) was established by the City of Uptown through the Downtown Arts and Entertainment District Sign Overlay Ordinance. This ordinance provides the legal framework for innovative signage, public art, and community programming within a defined geographic boundary in Downtown Uptown. Uptown Downtown's Art & Activation program is the public-facing expression of the AAED. Learn more
The worldwide Daffodil Project aims to build a Living Holocaust Memorial by planting 1.5 million daffodils around the world to remember and represent the one and a half million children who died in Nazi-occupied Europe and bring awareness to those currently suffering human rights crises throughout the world. CAP/ADID contributes to the worldwide effort by creating a "ribbon of consciousness" between the Center for Civil and Human Rights and the King Center, with over 275,000 bulbs planted to date.
